13th Annual day of SRMIST – Vadapalani campus was celebrated on 11th April, 2022 amidst pomp and splendor with great enthusiasm and zeal. The theme for this year was Go Green. The entire campus participated wholeheartedly towards the success of this grand event. The spectacular evening commenced with Thamizh Thai Vazhthu. The panel of dignitaries that consisted of Dr.M. Rajaram, IAS (retd) – Non Judicial Member, TN Lokayukta, Mr.P. Subbu Subramanian, Managing Director at Accenture, Vice Chancellor, Dean (CET), Vice Principal- Placements and Academics, Vice Principal – Research and IQAC coordinator, Vice Principal- Exam Cell, and HODs of various department.
Dr. C.V. Jayakumar – Dean E&T delivered the welcome address. In his speech, he pointed out the growth of Vadapalani campus in a short span of time since its inception. Vice Chancellor– Prof. C. Muthamizhchelvan highlighted Post Covid challenges for physical classes and examinations, and also he focused on students project should have social contribution.
The chief guest of the function is Dr.M. Rajaram, IAS (retd) insisted on LIFE MANTRA – “ PERFORM OR PERISH”. He recollected his college memories that shaped his future. The way to success is hard work, positive mind and commitment.
The Guest of Honour for the function is Mr.P. Subbu Subramanian, Managing Director at Accenture , stressed on Meta education. Education should bridge the gap between the IT industries and Academics
Prize Distribution for the top performers was awarded by the dignitaries.
Dr.C.Gomathi, VP Academics and Placements delivered the vote of thanks. She acknowledged the efforts of the students, faculties and supporting Staff and thanked the esteemed guests for their precious time and presence. This was followed by the National Anthem as a tribute to our nation which concluded the official function.
The Grand celebration of the day was the Cultural program. That was conducted in the open stage from 4:30 pm onwards. Tamil film celebrity, Cibi Chandran drove the show more energetically with the Youtuber Irfan and DJ Tamzz. The crowd bubbled with enthusiasm with the presence of these personalities. They addressed the gathering and distributed the cash prizes and awards to the students who have excelled cultural sports, clubs. The audience comprised of the parents, guests and faculties was captivated by the enchanting performances of the students.
