Hon’ble Minister for Information Technology and Digital Services of Tamil Nadu, Thiru. Dr. Palanivel Thiaga Rajan, Inaugurates the ‘Zifo Open Quiz 2024’

Chennai, August 15, 2024: Zifo, a global leader in scientific informatics, successfully hosted the “Zifo Open Quiz” on Independence Day for the second consecutive year, drawing a large and enthusiastic crowd to The Music Academy, reaffirming its status as a cornerstone of Chennai’s cultural calendar.

With over 600 teams and 1,800 eager participants from across the city, nation, and even the globe, competing for a prize pool exceeding Rs. 5 lakhs, this year’s Zifo Open Quiz was an unforgettable spectacle.

To accommodate the participants arriving from across India and overseas, Zifo established a dedicated bell desk this year to assist guests with their luggage. This thoughtful addition ensured a smooth and convenient experience for those who travelled to Chennai specifically for the quiz.

Dr. Palanivel Thiaga Rajan, the esteemed Chief Guest, graced the occasion with his presence: “I’m happy to be a part of the Zifo Open Quiz event, an initiative that is reviving the quizzing tradition of Chennai. This event is a walk down the corridors of memory lane, and highlights the indefatigable spirit of quizzing on Independence Day”.

In collaboration with renowned quizmaster Dr. Navin Jayakumar and the Quiz Federation of India (QFI), Zifo has brought back the magic of this legendary quiz. This year’s edition saw enthusiastic participation from numerous schools, with nearly 2,000 school students from 20+ schools participating in this festival of curiosity.
