TOURISM MINISTRY TO EXPAND FOCUS ON THE BUSINESS OF MICE: MEETINGS, INCENTIVES, CONFERENCES & EXHIBITIONS

Chennai/ New Delhi July 26, 2025 Indian Exhibition Industry Association (IEIA) the apex national body of exhibition industry in the country in association with Ministry of Tourism, Govt of India is organising day long deliberations on how to bring global conference, events and exhibitions to India and further boost MICE tourism in the country especially in South India .

“India is a significant and rapidly emerging player in this landscape. The Indian MICE market, valued at USD 49.4 billion in 2024, is projected to more than double to USD 103.7 billion by 2030 at an exceptional 13% CAGR, positioning it as one of the fastest-growing MICE markets in the world. As of 2025, India’s MICE venue capacity has grown to around 1.2 million m² across more than 70 world-class MICE facilities, including at least seven venues exceeding 100,000 m² each.” Said Mr Sooraj Dhawan, President, Indian Exhibition Industry Association (IEIA)
“The day-long MICE leaders Connect shall be attended by Industry players including leading MICE organisations, hotels and venues, trade bodies. Several key state Govt officials from South India have confirmed their participation to create a roadmap for MICE sector in their states.” said Mr Dhawan.

“India’s 63 million MSMEs form the backbone of our economy, contributing 30% to the national GDP and over 45% of total exports This conference underscores the MICE industry’s role as a catalyst for urban economic development, creating jobs and supporting a diverse ecosystem of local businesses, particularly SMEs..” said Mr T.G. Srikanth, IEIA, Southern region chairperson.
