Celebrating Excellence: College Day 2026 at SRM Valliammai Engineering College.”

SRM Valliammai Engineering College celebrated College Day 2026 on 14th March 2026 at the prestigious Dr. T. P. Ganesan Auditorium. The event brought together students, faculty members, and distinguished guests in a vibrant celebration of academic excellence and institutional achievements.
Dr. Ravi Pachamuthu, Chairman, SRM Group; Mrs. R. Padmapriya, Vice Chairman, SRM VEC; Ms. Harini Ravi, Correspondent, SRMVEC, honoured the occasion with their esteemed presence. The event was graced by Dr. R. Venkatesh Babu, Director – Academics & Admin and Dr. B. Chidhambararajan, Director.
Dr. M. Murugan, Principal, SRMVEC, presented the Annual Report, highlighting the institution’s achievements in academics, research, placements, co-curricular, and extracurricular activities.
Dr. S. Visalakshi, Vice Principal SRMVEC, welcomed the gathering and the eminent guests.
The Chief Guest Dr. B. Sampath, Business Unit Head – EPC Turnkey Solutions and the Guest of Honour Mr. R. Vijayan, Senior Director HR, PRODAPT addressed the gathering. The chief guest Dr. B. Sampath encouraged the students to follow their role models and equip themselves with the skills necessary to meet modern industry requirements. During the interactive session, he motivated the audience by promising future career opportunities, guidance and urging them to stay focused on their goals. The guest of honour Mr. R. Vijayan assured that the rise of AI will not pose any threat to the future engineers provided that they concentrate on harnessing their unique knowledge and skills which will surely be the key to their success.
College Day 2026 witnessed meritorious students getting awards and certificates for academic excellence and achievements in various departmental activities. Faculty members were also recognised for their contributions in research and academic fields.
The cultural bonanza included traditional dance, a musical performance by the VEC Band, Skating performance, Silambam, and energetic dance performances by students.
