Chennai, 9th February 2024: Today marks the grand commencement of the 10th edition of Jashn, India’s Largest Senior Citizen Sports & Cultural Festival, hosted at Ashiana Shubham. With the resounding theme of “Break the Barrier,” this three-day extravaganza promises to celebrate the timeless beauty and style of our senior citizens, defying age-related stereotypes.
Organized by Ashiana Housing Ltd., Jashn brings together seniors from its projects– Utsav Bhiwadi, Nirmay Bhiwadi, Ashiana Advik (Bhiwadi), Ashiana Amodh (Pune), Utsav Jaipur, Shubham Chennai, and Utsav Lavasa. Jashn, an annual inter-Ashiana Sports and Cultural Festival, has gained immense popularity since its inception in 2014, featuring different themes, competitions, and a vibrant display of enthusiasm.
Pre-Jashn activities, spanning walking competitions, rangoli making, knitting competitions, singing, dancing, TT, swimming, carrom competitions, and more, have been ongoing for the past month. With over 150+ participants expected, the anticipation is building for the gathering of more than 550 Ashiana Senior Living residents from various locations, making the two-day gala event a highlight of the year.

As a testament to the success and impact of Jashn, residents shared their heartfelt experiences. One resident exclaimed, “I won a prize for the first time in my life,” while another joyously stated, “I performed for the first time in front of a large crowd.”
The festival’s events encompass a diverse range, from carrom and ludo to singing, badminton, pencil sketching, cycling, relay walk, table tennis, salad making, dance, clay modelling, chess, sudoku, and more.
