Chennai, August 4, 2026: The much-anticipated Cavin’s Tamil Nadu Pickleball Premier League (TNPPL) – Season 2 was officially launched today in Chennai by Mr. K. Yogesh, Director of the League, along with K. Mohit Kumar, President of the Tamil Nadu Pickleball Association, and Dr. Kavya Somesh, Secretary of the Tamil Nadu Pickleball Association, marking a significant step forward in the growth of pickleball across the state.
The grand launch event brought together sports enthusiasts, franchise owners, and distinguished guests, and featured the unveiling of the official league trophy, setting the tone for an exciting season ahead.
A key highlight of the evening was the introduction of all 12 franchises, each representing districts across Tamil Nadu. The teams were presented alongside their owners, including prominent personality such as Chiyaan Vikram, Varalakshmi Sarathkumar, Keerthi Pandian among others, reflecting the growing popularity and strong backing for the sport.
Adding to the excitement, it was announced that all franchises will
n, featuring a total of 168 players. Each team will form a 14-player squad, with a total auction purse of INR 36 lakhs, bringing a competitive and professional structure to the league.
The event was graced by Actor Chiyaan Vikram as the Chief Guest. He was joined by K. Mohit Kumar, President of the Tamil Nadu Pickleball Association, along with other dignitaries from the sporting fraternity.
Speaking at the launch, Mr. K. Yogesh, Director of the League, said:
“Season 2 of TNPPL marks a defining moment for pickleball in Tamil Nadu. With increased participation, strong franchise ownership, and growing fan interest, we are confident that this league will not only elevate the sport locally but also position Tamil Nadu as a key hub for pickleball in India.”

The league is co-sanctioned by the Tamil Nadu Pickleball Association and the Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu, reinforcing its credibility and commitment to developing the sport at all levels.

The matches for Season 2 will be held from September 17 to 20, 2026, at the Express Avenue Atrium, Chennai, promising high-energy gameplay and an engaging spectator experience.
