Primebook 3 Max Officially Launches with MediaTek Genio 720 and Expanded PrimeOS
Primebook 3 Max combines new hardware with an expanded PrimeOS ecosystem spanning productivity, access to popular Linux applications and Linux terminal, device management and the company’s patent-published Operator AI.
New Delhi, India, 1st October 2026: Primebook, an Indian full-stack deeptech company building a personal computing ecosystem powered by its proprietary PrimeOS operating system, today officially launched Primebook 3 Max, the first laptop in its third-generation lineup. The laptop brings together a more capable hardware platform and an expanded PrimeOS experience, giving users greater flexibility across productivity, specialised software, device management and AI-enabled computing. Primebook will introduce Primebook 3 Pro as part of the same third-generation lineup at a later date.
At the centre of Primebook 3 Max is the MediaTek Genio 720, an octa-core processor featuring 2 × A78 cores at up to 2.6GHz and 6 × A55 cores at up to 2.0GHz, alongside a Mali-G57 MC2 GPU at 1.1GHz. The processor features an integrated NPU for supported AI tasks directly on the device and is paired with 8GB LPDDR5 RAM, an upgrade from the LPDDR4X memory used in the previous generation. Together, the new configuration delivers up to 40% higher performance than its predecessor.
The launch marks the next stage of Primebook’s multi-generation partnership with MediaTek, with its IoT-based Genio 720 processor powering Primebook 3 Max and bringing a more capable hardware platform to the third-generation lineup.
Commenting on the launch and the extended partnership, CK Wang, VP and General Manager, IOT BU, MediaTek, said, “Primebook shares our belief that powerful computing should be within reach of every user. With the MediaTek Genio 720, Primebook 3 brings on-device AI to an accessible laptop for the first time for many users. Built on 6nm process technology, its 8th-generation MediaTek NPU delivers up to 10 TOPS, enabling everything from speech recognition to on-device GenAI and leading LLMs, all while offering more performance per rupee. We’re proud to power Primebook 3 and look forward to supporting their vision of smarter, more accessible computing for India.”
Commenting on the launch, Chitranshu Mahant, Co-founder and CEO of Primebook, said, “In the personal computing industry, we often see that the different layers of the computing experience, from the operating system to the hardware, are being developed independently rather than being designed to work in sync with one another. We have always believed the opposite. We wanted the hardware to work in sync with PrimeOS, our in-built applications and value-added services, so that performance, power efficiency and the overall user experience could be optimised together. Our partnership with MediaTek is an important part of taking that thinking further, and we are confident that the combination of the Genio 720 and PrimeOS can create a value proposition in personal computing that users have rarely seen before.”
The expanded PrimeOS experience gives Primebook 3 Max capabilities that go beyond conventional Android-based laptop use. For everyday productivity, Primebook has developed PrimeOffice as an alternative to Microsoft Office, given the limitations of MS Office for Android. With over 90% of the same functionality, the free, offline-first suite includes PrimeDocs, PrimeSheets and PrimePresent for working with documents, spreadsheets and presentations. The suite has a cleaner interface designed to keep necessary tools within easy reach. PrimeOffice will initially launch with Primebook 3 Max, while Primebook 2 users and Primebook 3 Pro users will also receive access in the coming months.
PrimeOS also provides free, native access to select popular Linux applications and a Linux terminal by leveraging the same Linux kernel used by the operating system. Users can access applications including VS Code, GIMP, LibreOffice, Firefox, Arduino IDE, DBeaver CE, TablePlus and Postman. The support extends Primebook 3 Max beyond the Android application ecosystem, giving engineers, aspiring developers and other users access to specialised tools and CLI-based workflows.
Alongside productivity and software support, PrimeOS introduces built-in device health management through PrimeSecurity and Task Manager. PrimeSecurity scans for dangerous or fake apps and warns users when an application has a non-authentic developer signature. It can also kill or block dangerous or resource-hungry applications running in the background. Task Manager provides visibility into CPU and RAM usage and allows users to manage startup apps. When PrimeOS detects an issue with device health, users receive a notification with a suggested action that they can take directly.
Primebook 3 Max also includes PrimeAGNT (Operator AI) and PrimeX Cloud PC as value-added services within the PrimeOS ecosystem. PrimeAGNT is a patent-published AI agent built into PrimeOS that can understand a user’s goal, read what is happening across applications and their interfaces, and autonomously execute the steps needed to complete a task on the device. Its underlying System and Method for Autonomously Controlling Application Interactions on Computing Devices was published by the Indian Patent Office in August 2026.
The manufacturing and assembly of Primebook 3 Max laptops is carried out in India in collaboration with tech-led manufacturing platform Zetwerk.
Commenting on the Launch, CEO of Zetwerk Electronics, Shreerang Godbole states, “Primebook’s focus on building accessible personal computing in India aligns with Zetwerk’s precision manufacturing capabilities. Through this partnership, Zetwerk is manufacturing and assembling Primebook’s third generation laptop portfolio in India, supported by its advanced laptop manufacturing and testing setup. The partnership brings together Primebook’s computing ecosystem and Zetwerk’s precision manufacturing capabilities to support accessible computing solutions in India.”
