Chennai, August 2024: Calling all quiz lovers! Chennai has a rich history of quizzing, especially on Independence Day. For 27 years, from 1994 to 2020, the Landmark Quiz captivated audiences of all ages. Now, this beloved tradition is back and bigger than ever!
Chennai’s very own Zifo, a global leader in scientific informatics, has partnered with the renowned quizmaster Dr. Navin Jayakumar and Quiz Federation of India (QFI) for the second year running to continue the legendary Landmark Quiz as the Zifo Open Quiz.

Speaking about the upcoming edition of the Quiz, Mr. Raj Prakash Govindarajan, CEO and Co-Founder, Zifo, said “We are passionate about keeping Chennai’s love for knowledge alive, and we invite you to join us on the exciting journey this year as we include a special series of events for Chennai’s schools”.
This year, Zifo extended the annual quizzing tradition to all schools in Chennai. Over 4000 students from 20+ schools participated in this gala festival of curiosity. With the aim of going paperless and minimizing environmental impact, Zifo deployed an electronic exam device called “DigiTaal”. Students answered questions on this device just as they would on paper, enhancing their quiz-taking experience. The top teams from each school will be invited to the school final on August 15th 2024, where the preliminary round of the Open Quiz will also serve as the final round for the school round.
“Little More Labs helped Zifo minimize its environmental footprint this year by deploying our user-friendly ‘DigiTaal devices’ for the quiz. The devices and format have been a big hit with enthusiastic participation from students across the city,” said Srikanth Ganesan, CEO of Little More Labs Inc.
Dr. Navin Jayakumar, Ophthalmologist and Quizmaster, added “We aimed to make the quiz accessible to anyone who has a quest for curiosity and to attract a new generation of quizzers. Thirty years is an entire generation. So, for younger people, the quiz has been rebooted and made interesting by curating questions that are more contemporary.”
