AK Srikrishnan, COO, YRGCARE, announced today the partnership with Rotary Club of Madras East (RCME), Kauvery Hospital and CURI Hospital to reach out to underprivileged communities and offer them free COVID vaccination. The vaccination agreement was signed with both the hospitals today by Rtn.M.Srinivasa Rao, President, RCME , Dr. Aravindan Selvaraj Executive Director, Kauvery Hospitals and Dr.Anathakrishnan  Sivraman  and Mrs. Gayathri Ananthakrishnan, Managing Director, CURI Hospitals in the presence of Mr. AK Srikrishnan, COO, YRG CARE.

As we, as a society, prepare for an impending COVID third wave, our only saving grace is faster vaccination rates across all sections of our population. While Chennai has made good progress on COVID vaccinations, it is now the time to reach deeper into the underserved and underprivileged communities to ensure all sections of our society are secure from this deadly virus. This joint effort is aimed at enhancing the penetration of vaccinations for our helpers, drivers and all other forms of vocational workers who are yet to be vaccinated. RCME will be reaching out through their extensive networks to ensure that at least 2000 persons are vaccinated in a targeted fashion with support from Kauvery Hospital and CURI Hospital to deliver this in the most efficient manner possible. Overall the target is to deliver at least 5000 free doses of vaccinations over the next few months, free of charge.

Rtn. Srinivasa Rao, President RCME,  said ‘the proposed free COVID vaccination action camps aligns very well with RCME’s plans for supporting post COVID recovery, especially for underprivileged communities. We are extremely happy to partner with YRGCARE, Kauvery Hospital and CURI Hospital to serve more than 2000 people from underprivileged communities.’

YRGCARE, through a financial grant from the Johns Hopkins India Institute, USA will be providing funding support for up to 5000 doses to be delivered in stages, while RCME, Kauvery hospital and CURI hospital will conduct the camps and administer these vital vaccine doses for free. In his message Dr Sunil Solomon, Chairman of the YR Gaitonde Foundation, and faculty in the John’s Hopkins School of Medicine observed that YRGCARE  was committed to the welfare of the communities it serves.
