The Rotary Club of Madras Central a 40 year old Club with 95 Members, today provided 3 schools with hygiene facilities and other basic needs for the students and staff wellbeing. 2 out of the 3 are Girls Schools. RC of Madras Central has already initiated plans to help Six Government Schools, Phase I – 3 Schools and Phase II – 3 Schools through Rotary International Global Grant of Rs. 24 lakhs.
The world women’s day saw a flurry of activity in 3 big schools. Rotary Dist. Governor J. Sridhar, Club President KAV Ramesh, Special Project Director Vinod Saraogi, along with many Rotarians formally inaugurated the facilities.
Chennai Girls Hr. Sec. School, Shenoy Nagar – 1550 Girls
• providing Multi Tap Hand Wash Stations in 3 locations along with liquid soap dispensers, so that Covid hygiene is maintained for all the 1550 girls.
• providing with Six Rain Water Harvesting Wells to avoid water logging and recharge of ground water
• RO Plant with new Membrane provided and repaired for safe drinking water
• Noon meal area – provided 12 benches and civil work done for cement flooring.
